we’re foster parents!

That’s right. Oliver’s his name. He’s a 2 year old “cock-a-poo”. We think.

So, I’m on Ortho this month and occasionally get bored when there’s not much to do. This is the case on Wednesday. We had been talking about dogs and cats for a long time and about being too busy blah…blah…blah. But, I thought, what about a rescue dog? Already trained, chilled out, and pretty self-sufficient. So I did a little search in the area of recently rescued pups. One place in particular is Furry Friends Rescue. They pick up pups from local shelters and place them in doggie daycare until they are fostered (a couple days to a week). Once they’re fostered they get adopted  and the magic continues…

Which leads me to Oliver’s story. He was abandoned in a nearby field and picked up by local authorities. As he was a pretty endearing guy he got rescued very quickly by Furry Friends and placed in a great daycare program. He’d only been there 2 days when I happened upon him in my search. His ‘before’ picture showed a happy dude with some serious dreadlocks. I could tell he was our kinda guy. I got in touch with FFR, signed up to be a foster pop, and took him home today.

Turns out he’s pretty darn amazing. He’s totally cool on his own but hungry for attention. He’s a total people pleaser and amazing with other dogs. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll have to keep him around…
